FAQ for Candidates

How can Undutchables help me find a job?

The first step in finding a suitable job through Undutchables is by creating a profile on our website and uploading an up to date CV. We will start looking for suitable positions for you, however, we also would request that you apply directly to the vacancies which suit your work experience and interest. How can I get a work permit for the Netherlands?

If you are an EU citizen you are allowed to work in the Netherlands (except for citizens of Croatia). If you are a non-EU citizen the chance of obtaining a work permit is very limited. For some groups of non-EU citizens there are exemptions (for example for partners, students and highly skilled migrants). Read more about work permits here

Can I find a job in the Netherlands when still living abroad?

Finding a job while living abroad is more challenging when you do not already live here. It depends on your willingness and your flexibility. You cannot get a job without having face-to- face interviews. If a job opportunity arises we will first arrange an intake interview with us at Undutchables. When you are invited for an interview at the company next, you have to be willing and able to attend a face to face meeting at short notice and at your own costs.

What kind of jobs are available at Undutchables?

All of our vacancies are in the international business sector, ranging from administrative support to executive level positions. These jobs need the command of a specific (combination of) language(s). We do not provide production work. Check out our vacancies here

How can I meet the Undutchables Recruitment Consultants?

As soon as we have a matching vacancy for you, we will invite you to visit one of our Undutchables offices for a face-to-face interview. There is no need to drop by our offices. If you would like to meet our Recruitment Consultants and other internationals in an informal way, check out our intake and after work drink events.

Am I an Undutchable?

This includes Dutch speakers, with international experience. So for everyone who feels Undutch and Able! Check out our latest vacancies here.

Why do you need a copy of my ID?

COPY ID PROOF: AS FROM 1 JANUARY 2018 NEW RULES FOR EMPLOYMENT AGENCIES

Employers are obliged to check the identity of employees, to assess the residency status and to keep a copy of the identity document in the administration. These operations will apply not only to employees / temporary employees, but as of 1 January 2018 also to job-seekers who have not yet been made available to a client but are eligible for it.

This is a consequence of an adjustment of the Workforce Allocation Act by intermediaries (Waadi). The reason for the amendment of the law is that it is desirable that it can be checked at an early stage (ie already during the recruitment and selection process) whether candidates are authorized to work in the Netherlands and that clients can rely on it. Establishing the identity and making a copy of the ID certificate fall under the processing of special personal data. For the processing of such data for registered job-seekers there was no clear legal basis; from January 1 there will be.

The copy of the candidate's identity document may be stored for as long as necessary, with a maximum of four weeks. In concrete terms, this means that after having made the copy, the temporary employment agency has four weeks to hire and place the candidate. If this does not happen within this period, the copy must be destroyed. If the employment agency wants to continue to mediate the candidate afterwards, a copy will have to be made again. If the candidate is taken on duty within four weeks, then no new copy of the identity document has to be made. The copy that has already been made must then be saved, just as for other employees, until 5 years after the calendar year in which the employee left the company. The amendment of the Waadi is included in the Collective Act SZW 2018, which you will find here.
