Job description

For our client, we are looking for an area sales manager for the Flanders region. In this role, you will sell access control products and solutions to housing associations and property management companies through a selective, highly dedicated network of installers and distributors who effectively represent their external sales force. The role is 100% remote/outside sales and focused on business development, both with new prospects and with the existing customer database. Your success will be measured by your ability to equip collective housing complexes, which will be a direct result of your daily work, self-measured by specific KPIs (meetings attended, lead conversion).

Prospects: To generate leads, you will need to hold appointments. To hold meetings, you will have to schedule meetings. It sounds simple, but it requires excellent communication skills, self-direction, and determination, especially when you are disrupting an entire industry and challenging market habits. Whether by phone, LinkedIn, or on location, prospecting will be a part of your daily life, as it is the only way to succeed in your mission (getting that calendar full).

Get and follow leads: In these meetings, you will have to use your curiosity and listening skills to obtain leads in the form of projects. You will then have to follow up on these cases with absolute accuracy and focus to convert them into orders. For this, you will need strong and demonstrated project management and organization skills. Projects can range from one month to two years, so perseverance will again be crucial.

Controlling partners: You will use your leadership skills to gather around you a group of installation and distribution partners who share our vision and values. They will be your ambassadors. You will provide them with all the support they deserve, and they will actively promote the company solutions to their own customers. You will measure their success against a set of specific KPIs and make sure they always stay engaged.

You will not achieve all this alone. As a true team player, you will work together with an inside sales representative who will support you from the Amsterdam office by scheduling meetings for you (in addition to your own prospecting), preparing quotes, and helping you follow up on your projects. You will hold each other accountable and work hand-in-hand. To maximize your success, you will be continuously trained so that you can become stronger and more efficient in your work (technical and product knowledge, market dynamics, etc.) while developing transferable skills that will stay with you for the rest of your life (leadership, organization, project management, accuracy, etc.).
You will be provided with a car, smartphone, and laptop, and you will be part of the company's insurance program. You will also participate in the Group sales meetings at least twice a year (France, the UK, Germany), for which you must be able to travel to Europe.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in customer relations and business development
  • Proven sales results
  • Experience with prescribers and responding to public tenders is a plus
  • Openness to innovation
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and decisive
  • In possession of a valid driving license
  • Fluency in Dutch, English, and French is an advantage
  • You live in the region of Flanders, Belgium
