Our client is looking for a well-connected and experienced Business Development Manager to join the Amsterdam office.

As a Business Development Manager, you will share these values and use your skills and network of contacts to pursue prospective clients and assist in closing business deals for the Benelux market. This role is crucial to the growth of their business.

You will generate new business opportunities, nurture strong relationships with existing clients, and strengthen and promote their brand. To do this successfully you will be active in generating new leads through market research, cold and warm calling, and networking with industry professionals. Using your interpersonal instincts and active listening you will court prospective clients, earn their trust, and work with project team members to capture projects. Once the project is won, your job isn’t over – you will remain informed, involved, and in touch with the client throughout the entire process, ensuring they are satisfied during and after the project delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Generating New Leads: Identifying, pursuing and appealing to their target clients
  • Market Research: Gathering and analyzing market and industry intelligence, metrics and trends, and opportunities for new business to help determine desirability and winnability
  • Cold & Warm Calling: Calling new lead opportunities to open the door for inclusion in new projects and booking first appointments
  • Courting Prospective Clients: Following up on business opportunities, setting up meetings, and proposing, organizing and executing various marketing initiatives
  • Earning the Clients Trust: Establishing and proactively maintaining strong professional relationships with key decision makers and influencers within the local market
  • Capturing Projects: Prepare and deliver presentations that offer insights and ideas that clients and others have overlooked
  • Working with Project Team Members: Capture projects and assist with managing the client throughout the work, acting as a confidant and life-line that they can trust and turn to
  • Networking with Industry Professionals: Represent and promote their brand and its values in the marketplace by attending and participating in industry related events
  • Client Maintenance: during the project remain informed of project process and keep in regular communication with the client to ensure they think and feel that project is progressing smoothly

Requirements

  • You have proven sales/business development experience (4+ years) in the architecture and planning industry
  • You have gained work experience in a business that is specialized in design and delivery of workplace environments (interior design, workplace design, engineering, architecture, construction management, technology, digital infrastructure, workplace strategy, sustainability, and wellness)
  • Excellent business level in Dutch (level C2) and English
  • You have good networking and communication skills
  • You are result oriented, team driven, detailed oriented, and versatile
  • You take initiative, and have excellent organizational skills
