Job description

The main responsibility of this role is to deliver technical support and training to customers, sales channel partners, the sales team, the customer support team, and the New Products Introduction team (NPI). This entails comprehending the safety agency standards and electrical installation requirements in the clients target markets to address installation issues, as well as having a thorough knowledge of the clients products and those of the clients competitors to aid in training and competitive evaluations. Additionally, this role involves overseeing layout services in Europe, Africa, and Asia, and contributing to the New Products Introduction team initiatives for product development. A secondary responsibility is to oversee and manage the operations of the South Holland office, ensuring that the team based there can carry out their tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
For this position, a background in electrical engineering is required to provide assistance with technical electrical queries. This includes offering comprehensive technical support such as delivering design, assembly, and installation assistance along with training on the clients products for layout services, sales managers, customer service representatives, distributors, and sign company customers. Other key responsibilities for the role is:
  • Regulatory Assistance: Support customer service representatives with safety agency declarations and reports for smooth shipping and customs clearance.
  • Customer Training: Provide exceptional customer support, including onsite product training.
  • Problem Resolution: Address post-installation issues through virtual and onsite troubleshooting, failure analysis, and corrective actions.
  • NPI Team Collaboration: Act as a consultant to the New Product Introduction team, offering valuable insights on safety agency standards and electrical installation compliance for the EU, Africa, and Asia regions. Participate in prototype and first article evaluations to ensure the clients products meet market requirements.
  • Cross-functional Team Participation: Engage in weekly cross-functional team meetings and monthly NPI & Launch meetings.
  • Third-party Testing Coordination: Assist the NPI team with third-party lab testing in the EU.
  • Product Verification: Ensure sign product density guidelines are met through direct testing or coordination with the design team.
  • NPI Sales Support: Develop and implement strategies to equip the sales team with samples, training, and plans to drive new product sales in the first six months post-launch.
  • Sales Team Empowerment: Provide the sales team with training and technical presentations on the clints products, layout tools, and services.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee and develop the technical support team across the EU, Africa, and Asia regions, including layout services, RMA investigation, and customer issue resolution.
  • Exhibition Management: Lead the planning, setup, and design contributions for exhibition stands and attend industry exhibitions.
  • Facilities and Budget Management: Collaborate with EU sales and business leadership to develop and manage the office facilities budget. Address all facility issues not covered by the landlord to maintain a clean, efficient, and presentable office environment. Coordinate with the landlord for covered issues.
  • Operational Support: Provide local guidance and support to the operations team as needed.


  • Educational Background: University degree in engineering, electronics, or equivalent education/knowledge gained from work experience.
  • Technical Expertise: Hands-on experience providing technical support for electronic equipment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong skills with computer software such as Windows, Word, and Excel.
  • Decision-Making Abilities: Effective communication and decision-making skills.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to communicate clearly with diverse groups, including sign makers, distributors, designers, installers, engineers, and sales team members.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proven ability to solve challenging technical problems in the field.
  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated success in managing and developing a team, preferably in a similar business environment.
  • Sales and Customer Service Experience: Experience in making sales visits, customer service calls, and delivering presentations.
  • Collaborative Mindset: History of positive collaboration on technical projects in a team environment.
  • Language Proficiency: Strong English language skills, including excellent writing abilities.
  • Travel Availability: Willingness and ability to travel to customers across Europe, Africa, and Asia.
