What will you do?
You will play a key role in co-leading the Supply Chain Services team within the Procurement and Supply Services department. The team comprises approximately 20-30 supply chain professionals responsible for managing the entire supply chain process—from client requests to final delivery and financial closure.
You will reporting to the Project Operations Manager and work in partnership with internal experts across various departments, including Category Management, Freight & Warehousing, Quality, Finance, IT, HR, and Reporting, to drive operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Operational Management- Lead and oversee the Supply Chain team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations from initial request to final delivery and financial closure.
- Ensure team performance at both global and individual levels, meeting internal and external KPIs.
- Align cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of deliverables and initiate improvements to enhance key performance indicators.
- Maintain high standards of data entry and completeness across all processes.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder communication effectively.
- Contribute actively to the Procurement and Supply Services department’s performance and reporting cycle.
- Evaluate project deliverables, manage risks, and recommend corrective actions to the Project Operations Manager.
- Potential specialization in key areas such as supplier management, client management, quality management, or business development.
- Support team operations by managing transactions when necessary to stay connected with daily processes.
People Management- Lead and coach the team to achieve high performance, productivity, and quality standards.
- Foster a workplace culture aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
- Assess team strengths and development areas, providing opportunities for growth.
- Set individual and team goals within the HR cycle, with support from Human Resources when needed.
- Provide clear communication, feedback, and guidance to the team.
Project Management & Continuous ImprovementEnsure the smooth integration of new and ad hoc projects into daily operations.
- Collaborate with business analysts, IT specialists, and finance teams to assess the impact of new functionalities, processes, and projects.
- Manage projects efficiently, ensuring deadlines are met and progress is properly reported.
Quality, Risk & ComplianceWork closely with the Project Operations Manager to maintain high-quality standards in operations.
- Develop and refine standard operating procedures and ensure compliance within the team.
- Establish and maintain a team risk register, implementing mitigation and contingency plans as needed.
Requirements
Who are you?
- At least 5-8 years of work experience in Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
- Proven work experience in management or lead functions and strong leadership and an ability to recruit, direct, train, and manage (multi-cultural) teams.
- Fluency in oral and written English is a must. Command of Spanish and French highly valued.
- Educational level at least HBO (3rd level education) or an equivalent supply chain education.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities and work in a team with diverse cultural backgrounds.
- Analytical capacity and insight into business processes, both in the industry and in the business policy arena.
- IT proficient and a proven ability to work with ERP’s and other similar software.
- Good project management skills.
- Experience with ERP or procurement/supply chain management software combined with strong computer skills, including sound knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with donor funded projects is considered an advantage.
- Resilient and agile with an ability to manage change.
- Excellent communication and social skills.
- Self-driven with a high sense of quality, accuracy, efficiency and meeting tight deadlines.
- You must have a valid working permit for the Netherlands, our client does not offer sponsorship
- You must live in the Netherlands, ideally in Utrecht region
