Meet the Recruiter - Camila Gademan

We have shared a lot with you about our company, our events, the Netherlands as a country and their traditions. We feel like it is high time you got acquainted with some of our colleagues. This blog will give you more insight into the life of a recruiter, the challenges they face, their most memorable moments and their guilty pleasures. This week we will introduce our recruiter from Utrecht, Camila Gademan. Enjoy!

1. How did you end up in recruitment?

I was approached by Koen for the Office Assistant position back in 2020. At that time, I chose to join another company, a decision I regretted almost immediately. Thankfully, I maintained a connection with the Utrecht team, who were always kind and supportive. Over a year later, an opportunity arose for the Recruitment Consultant role, and that's when I officially joined the team.

2. What are the most/least enjoyable aspects of your role?

The most enjoyable aspect is connecting with people from all over the world, which enriches my daily job and enhances my intercultural competence.

The least enjoyable aspect for me is the sales component. While I take pride in maintaining quality relationships with my clients, I find prospecting and cold acquisition to be challenging.

3. What is the biggest challenge of the job?

The biggest challenge is the dependence on external factors and stakeholders. This dynamic sometimes makes it difficult to maintain ownership and control over processes.

4. What has been your most memorable moment in the job?

Bringing in my first client through my own efforts and building a strong, successful partnership with them.

5. What do you think is key for a successful recruiting process?

Communication is essential. It's not just about open and consistent communication throughout the hiring process, but also attentive listening to understand the needs of both clients and candidates. Success in recruitment comes from effectively matching needs and delivering solutions.

6. If you were to have a job outside an office environment, what would be your dream job?

I would love to be a writer, traveling the world, observing people and places to craft compelling stories.

7. What's your guilty pleasure?

Ordering sushi and enjoying it while watching a silly movie or series, preferably with a glass of Cava 😉
