Meet the Marketeer - Aubrey de Wilde

We have shared a lot with you about our company, our events, the Netherlands as a country and their traditions. We feel like it is high time you got acquainted with some of our colleagues. This blog will give you more insight into the life of a recruitment professional, the challenges they face, their most memorable moments and their guilty pleasures. This week we will introduce our Digital & Content Marketeer, Aubrey de Wilde. Enjoy!

1. How did you end up in recruitment?

To be honest the whole recruitment world was quite foreign to me. I studied Psychology and love working with people so when Lynn (Branch Manager in Eindhoven at the time) explained the recruiter job description to me I was very intrigued and thought it sounded like a good and challenging way to work with people in a way that I had not considered before.

2. What are the most/least enjoyable aspects of recruiting?

Most enjoyable: talking with candidates and learning their stories; making candidates and clients happy with a successful placement.

Least enjoyable: Having to tell people that they did not get their dream job.

3. What is the biggest challenge of the job?

Prioritizing your time to accomplish all of the tasks in the best possible order and finding new business.

4. What has been your most memorable moment in the job?

My most memorable moment was that while filling a temporary position on a very tight schedule the candidate came and listened to the whole contract meeting (which we had to print three different versions of because things kept changing!) before deciding that the position was not for her, but then we were able to fill that position the next day with a different candidate. It was a crazy few days!

5. If you were to have a job outside an office environment, what would be your dream job?

Music therapist or Music teacher

6. What's your guilty pleasure?

Eating peanut butter by the spoonful. Yum!
