Meet the Marketing & Communication Manager - Kirsten Jansen

We have shared a lot with you about our company, our events, the Netherlands as a country and their traditions. We feel like it is high time you got acquainted with some of our colleagues. This blog will give you more insight into the life of an Undutchables team member, the challenges they face, their most memorable moments and their guilty pleasures. This week we will introduce our Marketing & Communication Manager, Kirsten Jansen. Enjoy!

1. How did you end up at Undutchables?

My journey at Undutchables started in April 2009 as Branch Manager of The Hague. Before Undutchables I had already gained experience in the recruitment branch and growing up as an expat kid, so for me Undutchables is the perfect combination of working in recruitment with international talents. In 2013 I got the opportunity to change roles and became responsible for the Marketing and Communication within Undutchables....and the rest is history.

2. What are the most enjoyable aspects of your role?

I love the diversity of my role, my fabulous colleagues make it so much fun to go to work every day. To be really honest I actually do not have parts of my role that I do not like. As it is so diverse and always changing I keep on learning. This is probably one of the reasons I have been working at Undutchables for such a long time.

3. What is the biggest challenge of the job?

Staying on top with the fast-changing recruitment marketing world.

4. What has been your most memorable moment in the job?

I love the anniversary trips we take with Undutchables. I have been to Kitzbühel, Edinburgh, and Valencia. These weekends away with all our colleagues are so much fun, a memory that will last a lifetime.

5. What do you think is key for a successful recruiting process?

I am not recruiting myself anymore, but from a marketing point of view I would go for personal contact. Use all the offered tools efficiently, but really having contact with the candidate and client, guiding them, and showing them your expertise by going the extra mile is the most important part.

6. If you were to have a job outside an office environment, what would be your dream job?

Stewardess, traveling all over the world.

7. What's your guilty pleasure?

Frikandel special met curry, zonder ui.

Quickfire questions

Q: Coffee or tea

A: Tea

Q: Sun or snow?

A: Sun

Q: Are you a morning or a night person?

A: Morning

Q: If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go and why?

A: That is hard to choose, as I am fan of cities like: London, New York, Singapore, Los Angeles, Rome, Valencia, Boston, Porto, Rotterdam. But I think I will go for New York, as this city can literally offer everything. It gives me a feeling of freedom that you could do anything and everything if you want to.
