Job description

As a Category Manager, you will shape and oversee strategies for Gaming, Gifting, and Mobile Prepaid categories. Your role covers managing product ranges, fostering strong supplier partnerships, setting competitive pricing, and leveraging market data to continuously enhance performance. You stay up to date on the latest gaming trends and top brands in gifting, and work closely with marketing to ensure these products reach the right audience.
Key Responsibilities

• Category Strategy & Planning: Create and execute strategic plans for your categories, aligned with overall company goals. Monitor market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to uncover opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Supplier Negotiations & Sourcing: Secure the best deals and conditions with suppliers, ensuring both cost-effectiveness and product quality.
• Assortment Management: Oversee the product mix within your categories to ensure a well-balanced and attractive selection. Collaborate with suppliers to introduce innovative products and optimize offerings.
• Partner & Supplier Relations: Build strong, lasting relationships with key suppliers and brand partners. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve advantageous outcomes for the company.
• Pricing & Promotions: Set and adjust pricing strategies to balance profitability and market competitiveness. Partner with marketing to design and implement promotions that increase sales and customer engagement.
• Data-Driven Insights: Use analytics and market research to guide decisions. Prepare regular reports on category performance, trends, and KPIs, and translate insights into actionable improvements.
• Budget Oversight: Plan and manage budgets for your categories, ensuring resources are used effectively to meet financial objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• At least 3 years of proven experience as a Category Manager or in a similar function.
• Experience in (online) retail is an advantage.
• Strong analytical mindset with excellent strategic thinking skills.
• Outstanding negotiation and communication capabilities.
• Deep understanding of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive dynamics.
• Skilled in data analysis and reporting tools.
• Comfortable working collaboratively across multiple teams and functions.
• Excellent organizational abilities and project management skills.
• Highly proactive, detail-oriented, and always on top of priorities.
• Passion for gaming is a plus.
