A global LED lighting manufacturer with operations across three continents is looking for a skilled Shipping Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
  • Precisely determine import and export duties by analyzing product categories, country of origin, and relevant trade agreements.
  • Prepare all required shipping documents, such as invoices, packing lists, and customs paperwork, ensuring accuracy for tariff calculations.
  • Work closely with customs agents to file customs declarations, respond to tariff questions, and oversee customs clearance activities.
  • Stay updated on tariff regulation changes, identify any compliance risks, and ensure full compliance with international trade laws.
  • Monitor shipment progress, coordinate with transport providers, and inform stakeholders of any delays related to tariffs.
  • Select, pack, and prepare products for shipment according to customer orders.
  • Generate shipping labels with correct addresses and barcodes when necessary.
  • Choose suitable shipping carriers and arrange pickups accordingly.
  • Package goods securely to avoid damage during transportation.
  • Enter shipment information into company inventory and shipping systems accurately.
  • Adhere to all shipping guidelines and safety protocols.
  • Handle multiple orders efficiently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Communicate clearly and coordinate with internal departments and external logistics partners.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in shipping operations
  • Strong knowledge of international trade laws and customs processes
  • Familiarity with the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) for product classification
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data handling
  • Ability to manage sensitive information and ensure precise order processing
  • Capability to regularly lift and move heavy packages
  • Experience with shipping software and inventory management tools
  • Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines independently
  • Basic understanding of shipping and logistics principles
  • This role requires background screening
