Job description

As Operations & Workshop Supervisor, you will be responsible for the operational performance and technical infrastructure of two Workshops located in Antwerp and Valencia. These workshops handle the inspection and light repair of OEM and non-OEM rotating equipment, including steam turbines, compressors, and screw compressors.You will oversee all aspects of workshop readiness – including tooling, processes, personnel planning, and preventative maintenance – and ensure operations align with internal quality and safety standards. You will also evaluate and engage with third-party service providers to support non-OEM repairs when needed.Key responsibilities include:
  • Planning personnel, machines, tools, and operational materials
  • Supporting recruitment, training, and scheduling of workshop staff
  • Monitoring and assessing work processes and performance
  • Promoting collaboration and expertise-sharing between the two Satellite Workshops
  • Recommending and implementing process and workflow improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with MES standards, quality, and safety guidelines
  • Coordinating preventative maintenance of workshop tools and machinery
  • Documenting deviations and ensuring corrective measures are taken
  • Supporting budget planning related to production and workshop overhead
  • Leading redesigns of workstations and tooling setups when needed
  • Identifying and resolving equipment defects and coordinating troubleshooting
  • Liaising with internal teams, customers, and suppliers
  • Evaluating and onboarding local third-party vendors to support workshop activities
  • Promoting a safe and healthy working environment for all workshop employees

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in turbomachinery (steam turbines, gas turbines, steam compressors, etc.)
  • Completed technical training/apprenticeship or a diploma in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience working with both customers and suppliers
  • Proven leadership experience in a technical operations or workshop environment
  • Strong understanding of rotating equipment and related inspection/repair processes
  • Experience with procurement of workshop tools and equipment
  • Familiarity with IT systems such as MS Office and SAP
  • Willingness to travel frequently to our offices in Antwerps and Valencia
  • Drivers license B
  • Living in the Rotterdam area
  • Previous experience or education in turbomachinery and/or oil & gas is strongly preferred
  • Strong command of English; additional language skills are a plus
  • Able to work independently with a structured and consistent approach
  • Strong communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Stress-resilient, proactive, and solution-oriented
  • Service-minded and able to think entrepreneurially and cost-consciously
  • Due to frequent international travel and the need for work authorization across EU countries, only candidates with unrestricted EU work and travel rights can be considered


Working conditions

  • Monthly gross salary range: €3.500 to €6.000
  • Holiday allowance
  • 13th month
  • All-in gross annual salary between €53.000 and €85.000, depending on experience (including the bonuses etc.)
