As the Account Manager, you will play a crucial role in managing and strengthening relationships with key accounts while driving growth and innovation. Your entrepreneurial mindset and vision will be essential in setting up and executing strategic account plans to achieve sales and margin targets. You will actively monitor market trends and product developments, identify new opportunities, and transform these insights into actionable commercial strategies.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Maintaining and enhancing relationships with clients, ensuring account plans, product quality, and profitability are consistently monitored and optimized.
  • Negotiating terms such as pricing, payments, and delivery with (international) customers to secure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Establishing and tracking KPIs to monitor and achieve turnover and margin objectives, making data-driven adjustments when necessary.
  • Using analyses and reports to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and ensure optimal results.
  • Collaborating closely with colleagues and internal stakeholders to deliver the best outcomes, leveraging the power of teamwork.

Requirements

  • Completed higher professional education (HBO-level).
  • For this role, C2-level proficiency in German is mandatory for consideration. Additionally, candidates must have prior experience working within the German market. Please ensure that your CV clearly highlights your experience working with the German markets. Fluency in English at a C1 level is required, and knowledge of an additional language is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a similar field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in account management or sales, preferably in the FMCG sector.
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Strong analytical skills, with a focus on strategic thinking and problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Proven experience in Account Management within a medium-to-large retail organization or in Sales on the manufacturer’s side.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and engage with stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Open to international travel, including attending trade fairs and conducting store visits to stay informed about market and product trends.
Communication and presentation are your strengths, enabling you to build and maintain long-lasting client relationships. You are well-organized, capable of structuring tasks effectively, and working strategically towards your goals. Negotiation comes naturally to you, and you thrive on challenges, always remaining composed under pressure.
