Job description

What will you do?
The Contract Manager, in collaboration with business owners, oversees the entire contract lifecycle, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and executing agreements for goods, services, and partnerships. Additionally, you work closely with the legal team to ensure the company is adequately protected from risk and liability.
Contract Management & Contracting
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various contracts, including supplier agreements, service contracts, partnership agreements, and NDAs.
  • Collaborate with business owners to ensure contracts align with organizational needs.
  • Maintain and update the company terms and conditions.
  • Ensure proper flow-down clauses are incorporated into agreements.
  • Provide input on procurement and tendering activities.
  • Maintain and oversee the contract database in collaboration with Legal.
  • Track contract milestones, deliverables, and renewal dates to ensure timely compliance.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for seamless execution of contract terms.
  • Monitor contract performance and compliance, escalating issues when necessary.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams requiring contract support.
  • Develop an understanding of the organization’s ecosystem and varying client needs.
  • Establish a close partnership with the Legal team.
  • Gain knowledge of the contracted organizations and their operations. Where necessary, liaise directly with clients, suppliers, and business partners on contract-related matters.
  • Participate in periodic business reviews with contracted parties when appropriate.
Risk Management & Compliance
  • Identify and evaluate potential contract risks, proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure contracts comply with legal, regulatory, and company-specific policies, including procurement and intellectual property requirements.
  • Stay updated on relevant legislation and industry best practices to provide informed contract guidance.
  • Translate legal and industry developments into practical improvements for contract management.
Quality Management & Continuous Improvement
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of templates, SOPs, and work instructions within the Quality Management System.
  • Provide training and knowledge-sharing within the organization as needed.
  • Actively seek process improvements and efficiencies in contract-related activities.
Additional responsibilities
  • Support proposal development as needed.
  • Assist with additional tasks based on organizational needs.

Requirements

Who are you?
  • At least 5 years of work experience in contract management, procurement, or legal affairs, with a focus on drafting and negotiating contracts.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Fluency in oral and written English is a must
  • Strong knowledge of contract law, procurement processes, and compliance standards.
  • Experience in handling international contracts and understanding of cross-border legal considerations is an advantage.
  • Experience in pharma industry highly regarded.
  • Proven ability to negotiate complex terms and communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience within the fields of pharmaceuticals and/or public health highly regarded
  • Strong computer skills, including sound knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • You must live in the Netherlands
  • You must hold a valid working permit for the Netherlands. Our client does not offer sponsorship.

  • This is a long term position and full time (40 hours per week) - optional minimum 32 working hours per week.
