Job description

Are you passionate about data engineering and ready to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of data infrastructure? A leading company is seeking a Data Engineer to support the design, development, and optimization of their data warehouse (DWH) environment. In this role, you’ll integrate data from various systems and platforms, work closely with senior team members to address development backlogs, and troubleshoot data quality issues to ensure the highest standards of reliability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with teams across Supply Chain Operations, Performance Management & Analytics, 4PL Services, Finance & Accounting to support DWH technical development and meet business needs.
  • Enhance data quality monitoring by updating the “Data Checks” report, consolidating tracking of overall data quality, and improving client reporting.
  • Contribute to the development of reports and data products, working closely with business analysts, product owners, and other team members to support UAT and technical testing.
  • Partner with senior team members to optimize DWH performance and design, identifying opportunities to improve system resilience and scalability.
  • Proactively work on enhancing data quality, reliability, and system performance.
  • Contribute to documentation of DWH architecture and reports to maintain consistency and clarity across the team.

Requirements

These are the requirements:
  • Eligibility to Work in the Netherlands: Candidates should already be living in the Netherlands and be authorized to work here.

Professional and Technical Knowledge:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Math, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in the architectural aspects of data engineering.
  • Strong background in quality monitoring and reporting.
  • At least 4 years of experience with MS SQL Server and SSIS development.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing, data marts, and OLAP systems.
  • Experience with ETL processes, data integration, and business intelligence tools, including SSRS and Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Jira is a plus.
  • Willingness and availability to travel, and perform other related duties as required.

Interpersonal Skills / Communication:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Fluency in English is required (speaking, writing, understanding, and reading).
  • Priority Setting, Problem Solving, & Attention to Detail
  • Ability to approach problems from diverse cultural perspectives, with a sensitivity to cultural differences.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with an eye for detail.
  • Capable of planning, prioritizing, and executing tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while meeting deadlines.

Working conditions

Our client can offer a 7-month contract (with the possibility to extend), through Undutchables, within an international company working for a good cause. The salary is dependent on several factors, so we will be happy to provide further information on an individual basis.
Salary from: €4200,-
Salary to: €4600,-
