Job description
You will serve as the central figure for Service Desk operations, ensuring seamless communication, consistent support, and high-quality IT service for the company’s global user base. This role involves overseeing IT activities for employees in Rotterdam and coordinating with local IT teams supporting users in Angola and Mozambique. You will be instrumental in mentoring local teams, managing incidents, and improving service delivery processes. The ideal candidate is hands-on, solution-oriented, and capable of leading technical operations while maintaining a strong customer focus.
Your Responsibilities Include:- Lead and coordinate daily Service Desk activities, ensuring timely and effective support.
- Coach and develop IT team members, improving technical skills and professional standards.
- Provide expert technical guidance and intervene in resolving complex issues.
- Recommend improvements to existing processes to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, responding to inquiries and addressing concerns proactively.
- Navigate challenging environments with limited IT infrastructure and user expertise, delivering consistent results.
- Manage Service Desk calls, monitor service level agreements, and ensure proper ticket allocation.
- Administer IT change control processes and maintain detailed documentation for installations, configurations, and policies.
- Plan and deploy hardware and software solutions, keeping accurate IT asset records.
- Support project delivery for IT initiatives, including software, hardware, and infrastructure deployments.
- Handle administrative tasks, such as vendor and sales invoice management.
- Provide on-site and remote assistance, including potential travel to African offices to train and support local teams.
Requirements
Technical Skills • 2–3 years of experience in Service Desk support or IT administration • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Intune, and cloud-based solutions • Familiarity with networking equipment (Cisco, Meraki, Ubiquity) • Prior exposure to ERP systems • Proficiency with ticketing systems and incident management software • Knowledge of ITIL processes (advantageous)
Collaboration & Operations • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and coordinating IT operations • Comfortable working in dynamic, less structured environments • Able to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders • Strong communication skills and ability to provide constructive feedback
Customer Support • Strong customer service skills (email, phone, chat support)
Languages • Fluent in English; Portuguese required; Dutch is a plus
