Job description
The position focuses primarily on contract management and involves collaboration with a wide range of parties, including suppliers in the pharmaceutical, logistics, and IT sectors, international donors, clients across low- and middle-income countries, and other organizations that procure medicines. In addition, the Legal Advisor will address broader legal topics such as data privacy and GDPR, litigation, and regulatory compliance. The role also includes supporting strategic partnerships with NGOs, private sector actors, and other stakeholders.
Your main responsibilities- Review, interpret, and translate legal requirements, ensuring effective communication with both internal teams and external partners.
- Implement legal processes that may affect the rights and obligations of the organization.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, statutory obligations, and other applicable regulations.
- Manage litigation, assess risks in business processes, and provide risk mitigation strategies.
- Draft, review, and evaluate legal documents including contracts, licenses, statements, and agreements.
- Provide legal advice on transactions, internal operations, and organizational relationships.
- Identify and mitigate potential legal risks, coordinate responses to disputes, and manage conflicts across diverse legal areas.
- Review, interpret, and negotiate contracts with suppliers and logistics service providers.
- Advise on employment and service agreements in collaboration with HR, Quality Assurance, and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Who are you?
- Master’s degree in Law.
- Qualified lawyer with at least 8 years of relevant legal experience, ideally in a corporate environment.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in the commercial private sector; exposure to international suppliers, supply chain, and logistics is an asset.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written); proficiency in other languages, especially French, is highly valued.
- Broad knowledge of legal fields, including employment, property, governance, and commercial law.
- Experience in managing legal requirements under European and international labor law.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate at all organizational levels.
- Solid experience in supporting international operations from a legal perspective.
- You must live in Utrecht region
