Job description

The Outside Sales develops and manages a customer portfolio in accordance with Agency Business Plan Management; sells products and services related to it, while promoting Group image and values. Their overall goal is to grow the business and improve the customer service experience.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities of the Outside Sales - Local Sales role include:
  • Hold overall responsibility for the results of a portfolio of key accounts across all trades, including export, import, and cross-trade, with a focus on targeted growth.
  • Ensure that competitive rates are consistently on file for each account, and that all agreed rates are accurately entered in relevant systems (e.g., Lara or equivalent).
  • Serve as an ambassador for non-controlled volume accounts within your portfolio and provide both short- and long-term sales forecasts.
  • Set sales targets for each customer, including concrete action plans for achieving those targets, in coordination with Trade Management.
  • Foster open communication and strong collaboration with Trade Teams (both local and head office) and the Sales Support Team.
  • Promote and sell the company's full range of products and services, including non-maritime offerings (such as ACT+, e-commerce, VAS, intermodal solutions, and logistics services), while adhering to the established pricing policy.
  • Provide clear visibility into the actions taken to support the sales of these products.
  • Ensure valid and up-to-date credit agreements are in place for all customers eligible for credit terms.
  • Aim for the highest standards of invoice accuracy and work to ensure outstanding invoices are paid within the agreed timeframe.
  • Attend commercial events and actively develop a professional network within your assigned sales territory.
  • Maintain accurate and current commercial data in internal systems.
  • Schedule and conduct regular meetings with accounts in your portfolio, following the designated sales call cycle and visit frequency.
Required Expereince:
  • Fluency in Dutch and English is mandatory, French is a preference
  • Driver license
  • Knowledge of MS Office software & CRM software
  • Good communication skills (oral & written)
  • Customer focused and result driven
  • Decision quality and problem solving skills
  • Excellent product knowledge
  • Strong negotiation skills, able to close sales
