We have shared a lot with you about our company, our events, the Netherlands as a country and their traditions. We feel like it is high time you got acquainted with some of our colleagues. This blog will give you more insight into the life of a recruiter, the challenges they face, their most memorable moments and their guilty pleasures. This week we will introduce our recruiter from Eindhoven, Carmen Cordes. Enjoy!
I met Anique during our studies, and after we graduated, she began working at Undutchables. When she mentioned they were still looking for new team members, I decided to apply—and the rest is history.
What I enjoy most about my role is being able to help people. It's incredibly fulfilling to see their genuine happiness when you’ve had the chance to change someone’s life. However, the part I enjoy the least is not being able to help everyone find a job in the Netherlands and having to disappoint people sometimes.
Rejecting candidates who are already late in the interview process is always difficult. It's hard to turn people down, especially when they are so happy to have made it this far—it makes it even more challenging.
The trip we got as a celebration of Undutchables' 25th anniversary. Every five years, the company organizes a surprise trip for all employees, which is always a lot of fun. It's a great opportunity to bond with colleagues in a different setting and create lasting memories together.
Transparent communication is key. Being honest with candidates about their current status in the recruitment process helps manage expectations. It's important to provide clear and accurate information about what they can expect next, without giving false hope.
