As 2024 wraps up, we’re grabbing a cup of coffee (or maybe something more celebratory 🍾) to look back on this year at Undutchables. From big wins to little moments of joy, this year was packed with growth, change, and plenty of laughs of course. Our team crushed it, and we couldn’t be prouder! This year, our new website and updated branding (which we absolutely love, and we hope you do too 😍) helped us to stand out and bring in even more traffic.
With a few small changes we transformed our application process so that with just a few quick clicks your CV could already be on our recruiter’s desktop. Add to that a super handy personalized portal where you can apply for positions directly, keep your information up to date, and keep track of the status of all the roles you have applied for, and our recruiters were kept nice and busy handling the constant flow of promising applications coming in.
With all these tweaks and innovations we didn’t just expand our reach globally this year, but by building on the past, making use of creative resources to enter new spaces, and of course relying on our ever-growing international community (that’s you!) our ability to bridge the gap between businesses seeking unique skill sets and professionals eager to make an impact has been strengthened immensely. Introducing U-Connect: The Brand-New Freelance Platform for Multilinguals in the Netherlands.
As the demand for globally-minded talent continues to grow (which we love!) Undutchables continues forward with our mission to match multilingual job seekers with their next employer, and we also wanted to open up opportunities for another portion of this international talent pool – the freelancers. That’s why we launched U-Connect this year, a self-service platform designed to connect skilled multilingual freelancers with international companies seeking flexible talent solutions.
U-Connect simplifies the process for businesses and freelancers alike. Built specifically with challenges like language barriers and complex local regulations in mind, U-Connect ensures that freelancers can showcase their expertise and easily send in proposals for available projects, while companies can effortlessly find the talent they need. It’s our way of empowering multilingual professionals and helping businesses tap into global talent with ease.

Next to finding a job, there are a lot of other important things you come across when it comes to being an international in the Netherlands. That’s why we collaborate with a variety of partners who handle everything from housing to language courses, and community building to legal advice. Each partner has their own specific area of expertise and provides the same level of service that we do. We are happy that we were able to expand our network and add to our partner page again this year. Undutchables participated in, and hosted, many events this year. In addition to the lovely opportunity to network and meet new people during these functions, we also know that the expertise we have from over 25 years in international recruitment can help job seekers and companies alike. This is why our colleagues participated in a plethora of events throughout the Netherlands this year. We really enjoyed meeting all of you and sharing our knowledge as part of the many university and partner presentations, round table discussions, and network sessions in 2024.
In addition to the partner and international community events where we were present, we also hosted many events ourselves this year. We started the year off strong with several successful CV workshops, helping candidates learn how to tailor their CV to the Dutch job market. But we didn’t stop there. We are also proud to have launched a new series of spotlight weeks and live Walk-in Events where job seekers could speak with our recruiters directly every month. Plus, our Amsterdam team hosted a lovely candidate get together to see old faces and get to know new people to kick off the summer.
Our team also upped their online game this year, presenting our most popular webinar yet (Nice!) about Contracts and Benefits in the Netherlands, putting on an interactive online French Week covering topics from LinkedIn to labor laws, and working together with partners from the Netherlands Point of Entry and Nuffic to host a webinar about The Future of Internationals in the Netherlands. Plus, a big highlight for us, was working together with the Regina Coeli Language Institute to put together a wonderful live event for HR professionals at their beautiful location in Vught. We hope that these opportunities offered valuable insights to both our candidates and clients and we can’t wait to see you at the exciting events we have coming up next year!
In a challenging and ever-changing market, we are incredibly grateful for our amazing team, whose dedication and expertise have been the driving force behind our success this year. From navigating legal complexities and Dutch labour law changes to adapting to international and local market fluctuations, their hard work ensured we stayed flexible, creative, and always ready to support our candidates and clients.
This year, our company-wide quarterly meetings also played a key role in keeping everyone aligned. These sessions weren’t just informative—they were also packed with fun and energy, strengthening our team spirit and ensuring we stayed connected as we tackled challenges together. In this tricky market, teamwork truly made the dream work, and we are proud of what we achieved together in 2024! 🎉
In addition to making improvements that would serve our clients, candidates, and partners better this year, we also made great strides internally to facilitate company growth, as well as individual improvement. We put a special focus on strengthening our internal foundation to better support our mission of connecting talent with opportunity. At the heart of this growth are our Undutchables core values: Personal, Expertise, Partner, and Enterprising. These values guided us every step of the way, shaping the projects we undertook, the culture we fostered, and the opportunities to support our team in their professional and personal growth.
After launching Undutchacademy – an official internal training program – in 2023, we have continued strong this year, with even more colleagues brushing up their knowledge and learning new skills. Our programs provide comprehensive training to our colleagues, ensuring they stay ahead in the ever-evolving world of recruitment. With easy to follow courses for onboarding, interviewing skills, Dutch labour law, sharing feedback, and more, our team members have access to an in-house knowledge library and internal trainers to help them become experts in their craft.
We are especially proud of the in-depth sales training that many colleagues participated in throughout this year. Team members dedicated time to sharpen their sales prowess while receiving helpful feedback in real time from Marjan Stoit, our certified trainer and experienced Commercial Manager. With the great tips and tricks from the training our team is ready to apply a refreshed personal and commercial approach for another year of business success!
A warm welcome to our newest team members! (Although some of them have been with us almost the entire year 😉 ...we are still very glad that they joined our Undutchables family in 2024!)
At Undutchables we believe in the beauty of diversity. Undutchables boasts a team representing 18 different nationalities, celebrating diversity as much internally as we promote it externally. Having such a diverse team allows us to connect with our candidates that come from all over the world, as well as broaden our horizons by learning about our colleagues and their cultures. Although we may differ in many ways, there are also many ways that we are the same. For instance, most of our team members are internationals or globetrotters themselves which unites us with a common goal to help international job seekers and companies get connected. We have had many opportunities to get to know each other even better this year through sharing culture shock experiences during lunch at the office, fun and educational teambuilding days, and celebrating personal milestones such as weddings, births, and promotions, along with our colleagues. The heart of Undutchables is truly our employees, and we are grateful to each of our Undutchies for their unique contribution to our team this year! ❤️
