Job description
An international design and consultancy firm with headquarters in Rotterdam is seeking a Junior Project Controller to join its Finance team. This position reports directly to the Finance Director/CFO and will play an important role in supporting the financial operations of multiple offices worldwide. The Finance department manages the accounting activities for all international branches and oversees financial project management for global assignments. The ideal candidate will bring experience across various aspects of financial accounting and a proactive approach to improving financial processes. The company is currently transitioning to a new ERP system, which includes reviewing and optimizing existing workflows and reporting structures. Candidates with an interest in or prior experience supporting such transitions—or who have familiarity with ERP systems—are especially encouraged to apply. This position is available for 32–40 hours per week.
- Bachelor’s degree (HBO level), preferably in Finance & Control or Business Economics;
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar finance or project control role;
- Experience working with ERP or accounting systems such as IFS or Exact;
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and especially Excel);
- Fluent in Dutch and English, both spoken and written;
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments;
- Accurate, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently with a hands-on approach;
- Proactive, structured, and team-oriented mindset;
- Eligibility to work in the Netherlands is preferred
Requirements
- Oversee the financial management of international projects, including coordination with project leaders and senior management;
- Prepare and process sales invoices and quarterly project reports, ensuring compliance with tax regulations and timely follow-up on outstanding invoices;
- Support regular accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, petty cash, vendor invoices, expense reports, and company credit cards;
- Maintain high standards of quality control across financial transactions and reporting;
- Actively follow up with internal staff to ensure accurate and timely completion of timesheets;
- Assist with monthly and quarterly financial closings and other reporting activities.
Working conditions
- Competitive Salary – Negotiable, reflecting experience and responsibilities.
- Direct 7 month contract with our client with intention to go indefinite upon mutual agreement
- Open to a 32 or 40 hour work week - this position is 100% office based
- 30 Vacation Days per calendar year.
