Job description
Our client is looking for a talented
Allocator responsible for driving effective and efficient product distribution decisions to support retail performance and customer experience.
In this role, you will own allocation and replenishment decisions to ensure the right product is available in the right place, at the right time, and in the right quantity. By leveraging sales, inventory, and store performance data, you will translate seasonal strategies into actionable plans that optimize revenue, minimize excess inventory, and improve overall business performance.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Merchandising, Assortment Planning, Supply Chain, and store teams across Europe, to bring seasonal strategies to life while supporting a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Own allocation and replenishment decisions using sales, inventory, and store performance data.
- Drive assortment and allocation decisions in close partnership with Merchandising and Assortment Planning teams.
- Manage in-season allocation by identifying risks and opportunities and determining the appropriate actions.
- Set, review, and reconcile periodic demand plans, including assortment, product flow, stock levels, SKU productivity, and allocation strategies to maximize revenue and minimize closeout inventory.
- Lead demand management activities, including communicating purchase positions, analyzing forecast variances, and prioritizing, negotiating, and resolving category-specific inventory challenges.
- Lead Demand & Delivery performance analysis by improving inventory management awareness, analyzing inventory data and KPIs, and tracking key targets related to inventory and delivery performance.
- Prepare and present allocation strategies during seasonal kick-offs and cross-functional business meetings.
- Communicate decisions clearly through analysis, reporting, and in-season trade discussions.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve processes, tools, and decision-making quality.
- Demonstrate operational excellence through strong knowledge of planning tools, related systems, dependencies, and KPI-driven improvements.
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-4 years of direct experience in Allocation, Planning, Merchandising, Buying, or a related retail role with the ability to independently lead commercial decisions.
- Strong retail mindset with corporate experience in fashion or sports retail preferred.
- Solid analytical skills with strong Excel capabilities.
- Experience with Tableau, Power BI, SQL, or similar analytical tools is a plus.
- Ability to make decisions in ambiguous situations and take ownership of outcomes.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
- Resilient, adaptable, and motivated by continuous improvement.
- Ability to understand different perspectives, connect business insights, and create alignment with cross-functional partners.
- Currently residing in Hilversum or the surrounding area.
