Job description
Our HR team at the EMEA Headquarters in Amsterdam is looking for a new team member with experience in (international) payroll and compensation & benefits across the EMEA region. This role will also contribute significantly to the preparation and support of annual budgeting processes.
- Serve as a key point of expertise for payroll, compensation, and benefits across the regional and international landscape.
- Oversee monthly payroll operations in collaboration with external payroll vendors, ensuring accuracy, identifying discrepancies, and resolving any issues that arise.
- Support and manage compensation-related activities, including salary benchmarking, annual compensation cycles, performance-based pay, and expatriate packages.
- Administer employee benefits programs, ensuring plans are maintained in line with compliance standards, managing vendor relationships, and delivering accurate reporting from a regional headquarters perspective.
- Work with complex and confidential datasets, providing detailed analysis and actionable insights on compensation structures, benefit schemes, tax implications, and social security across the region.
- Provide both administrative and analytical support for initiatives such as headcount tracking, market insights, program rollouts, cost analysis, and budget development.
- Collaborate closely with external service providers and maintain a strong working relationship with global HR counterparts, particularly with colleagues at the Corporate HQ in Brazil.
- Respond to and manage ad hoc requests, providing timely, tailored solutions based on evolving business needs.
- Prepare and support internal and external audits by compiling relevant documentation, responding to inquiries, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and company standards.
- Run and deliver custom HR reports in response to changing business priorities and stakeholder needs.
- Play a key role in the annual budgeting process, including variance analysis and forecast adjustments for HR-related expenses using systems such as SAP and SAC.
- Initiate and manage HR-related financial transactions, including payment requests and invoice processing, using SAP tools.
- Serve as a reliable point of contact for employees with questions regarding payroll or benefits, offering accurate and professional support.
- Work in strong alignment with the Finance department to ensure smooth monthly payroll closures, payment execution, and resolution of any financial discrepancies.
- Take part in cross-functional HR projects throughout the year—whether as a project owner or as a contributing team member—based on expertise, availability, and interest.
- Actively contribute to HR process improvements, embracing a continuous improvement mindset, with a focus on efficiency and value creation through Lean methodologies.
Requirements
- A university-level qualification (Bachelor’s or higher) in disciplines such as Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a comparable field is preferred. However, equivalent professional experience may also be considered.
- Ideally, you bring 3 to 5 years of experience in a comparable role, handling payroll across multiple EMEA countries, with familiarity in topics such as hypothetical tax, social security obligations, and permanent establishment rules.
- Prior exposure to SAP platforms is beneficial, particularly SAP SuccessFactors.
- A solid understanding of accounting and finance operations is highly advantageous.
- Strong analytical thinking, excellent organizational abilities, and a proactive, results-oriented approach are essential.
- Someone who is naturally inquisitive, enjoys hands-on learning, and has a collaborative mindset.
- Comfortable collaborating across departments and working at all organizational levels, particularly in an international context.
- Experience in multicultural work environments is a strong asset, and cultural sensitivity is a key requirement.
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, with the capability to build rapport across a variety of stakeholders.
- A collaborative team player who values feedback and uses it constructively — both within their own team and across other groups.
- Capable of adapting quickly, managing shifting priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Detail-oriented with a structured approach to problem-solving and task execution.
- Able to work independently, taking initiative when necessary.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) is essential.
- Focused on optimizing workflows and improving accuracy, particularly in reporting and process design.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs, pivot tables) and comfortable working with Microsoft Word and tools like Copilot.
