Job description
Our client is looking for a hands-on Workshop Technician to support workshop operations through equipment assembly, maintenance, testing, and basic machining activities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical, technical work and takes pride in maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
- Assemble and disassemble specialized mechanical equipment using hand and power tools.
- Inspect, test, calibrate, and maintain equipment in accordance with established procedures.
- Support workshop operations by ensuring workflows and processes are followed correctly.
- Assist with preparing equipment for outgoing projects and processing incoming equipment, including inspection, cleaning, testing, and maintenance.
- Help organize tools and materials to ensure project teams have the correct equipment available when needed.
- Perform basic manufacturing and machining tasks, including turning, milling, grinding, measuring, and welding activities.
- Maintain accurate records, databases, and inventory information.
- Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe workshop and yard environment.
- Carry out driving duties when required.
- Continuously develop technical knowledge and industry expertise.
Requirements
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments.
- Basic understanding of workshop machinery and machining processes.
- Ability to read technical drawings is a must.
- Practical, hands-on approach with strong problem-solving skills.
- Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to support colleagues.
- VCA certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- Commitment to quality, health, safety, and environmental standards.
- Fluent communication skills in both Dutch (C1-C2) and English (B1-B2+).
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office.
- Flexibility to work overtime when operational needs require it, as some periods are busier than others.
- On call shift: 1x every 6 weeks office phone calls are direct to one member of the team from a Friday afternoon through to the next Thursday (one week total).
- Valid Category B driving license (B+E is an advantage).
- Residency in Assen or the surrounding area

Working conditions
- Market conform salary dependent on years of experience (up to max EUR 43.000,-- gross per year, based on full-time, including 8% holiday allowance)
