Job description
As Senior Assortment Planner, you will co-own the
EMEA Assortment Plan for your assigned sport categories. You will translate marketplace demand into clear assortment and inventory plans, working from both a top-down and bottom-up perspective. You will work closely with teams across
Merchandising, Direct-to-Consumer, Wholesale, Supply & Inventory Management and Supply Planning to ensure the right products are available in the right quantities across the marketplace.Your main responsibilities will include:
- Managing multi-season assortment plans across sports, franchises/product families and individual styles/colours.
- Translating assortment plans into a clear demand signal for Supply Planning and Sourcing.
- Owning Open-To-Buy (OTB) plans and validating these against rolling Stock & Sales Plans (SSP).
- Balancing and optimising sales, margin, inventory levels and product health.
- Monitoring key franchises and product families and aligning plans with global targets.
- Managing product allocations where production capacity or available inventory is constrained.
- Developing and validating forecasts using historical data, statistical forecasting, marketplace insights and commercial targets.
- Supporting responsive and continuously available product plans across multiple seasons, including adjusting forecasts based on in-season performance.
- Partnering with Merchandising, Sales, Direct-to-Consumer and Supply & Inventory teams to optimise important seasonal, marketplace and sporting moments.
- Analysing demand patterns, sell-through and marketplace performance to identify risks and opportunities.
- Independently managing planning activities, priorities and deliverables while ensuring stakeholders remain aligned.
Requirements
You are an analytical planner who is comfortable working with large amounts of commercial and product data, but you are equally capable of turning those insights into recommendations and influencing stakeholders. You understand that a strong assortment plan is not simply about forecasting demand — it requires balancing
consumer demand, product strategy, inventory and financial performance.Ideally, you bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Economics or a related field.
- Around 5+ years of relevant professional experience in assortment planning, merchandise planning, demand planning or a closely related area.
- Strong experience working across financial, product and inventory planning.
- Experience managing assortments or forecasts across multiple seasons and/or sales channels.
- A good understanding of Open-To-Buy (OTB), inventory planning, sales forecasting and stock management.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence using data to build fact-based plans and recommendations.
- Experience with statistical forecasting or data-driven planning methodologies.
- An end-to-end planning mindset and the ability to understand how assortment decisions affect the wider marketplace and supply chain.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- The ability to work independently, set priorities and move projects forward with limited guidance.
- A collaborative, adaptable and solution-oriented mindset.
