Croatian nationals no longer require work permits in the Netherlands
Good news for people with the Croatian nationality! The Dutch government has decided not to extend the transitional regime which requires Croatian nationals to have a work permit to be able to work in the Netherlands. As of 1 July 2018 is the work permit for Croatian nationals therefore no longer required. This means that Croats can enjoy full access to the Dutch labor market. According to the minister, providing access to the labor market will benefit the Dutch business sector that invests in Croatia, as the transitional regime for Dutch workers in Croatia will also be removed. Croatia is the last EU Member State to which a transitional regime applies.
