Meet the Recruiter - Luisa Ticca

We have shared a lot with you about our company, our events, the Netherlands as a country and their traditions. We feel like it is high time you got acquainted with some of our colleagues. This blog will give you more insight into the life of a recruiter, the challenges they face, their most memorable moments and their guilty pleasures. This week we will introduce our recruiter from Eindhoven, Luisa Ticca. Enjoy!

1. How did you end up in recruitment?

A former colleague told me that Undutchables was hiring, and I decided to apply. I was also curious to gain experience in an agency environment, as my background was mainly in in-house recruitment. It felt like the right opportunity to broaden my skills and perspective.

2. What are the most/least enjoyable aspects of your role?

Most enjoyable: Connecting with people and helping them find the right opportunity.

Least enjoyable: Having to inform a candidate they've been declined, especially when I believe they have a strong profile. It never feels good to deliver that kind of news.

3. What is the biggest challenge of the job?

Managing expectations from both clients and candidates while maintaining speed and quality in the process.

4. What has been your most memorable moment in the job?

Successfully placing a candidate in a role that had been open for a long time. It was a complex search, and finding the right match after weeks of effort was incredibly satisfying. It reminded me why I enjoy the challenge of recruitment.

5. What do you think is key for a successful recruiting process?

Clear communication, transparency, being yourself, showing empathy, and understanding the needs and motivations of both the client and the candidate.

6. If you were to have a job outside an office environment, what would be your dream job?

Restoring historic homes in the Italian countryside—combining creativity, culture, and craftsmanship.

7. What's your guilty pleasure?

Lying on the couch with my e-reader, reading for hours, and eating chocolate cookies.
